Why box yourself into a category?

Before we had Pinterest , or Ikea showrooms, we had our simple yet solid beautiful furniture, furnishings, decor, and art.

We also had our imagination.

While it used to be the case that wisdom comes with old age, it’s not necessarily the case now.

Making something out of nothing can be done with others, or alone.

In this case, it’s always been the latter.

But then, there is that one person or three over of the course of our whole life who really stand out. Not because of any accomplishment, or great outward gesture. The whole of their being is at once a threat and a refuge.

I was building a fire that day, just as I had done the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that.

Alas, a place I also had to leave.

It’s that moment you’re holding a camera, looking out through the lens, adjusting the aperture to bring to focus what you want. That adjustment is our life. And the joy lies in seeing the final photograph.
