Memory + Experience
Memory.
During one of my trips to Europe 10 years ago, I didn’t have a phone or anything on me. I had a camera, but I was horrible at capturing what my eyes perceived. I wanted to be present, taking in all the beauty I saw. Not just beauty, but also its contrary.
One of my best friends Jeremy used to say, “Experiences are worth more than the memory they leave behind; experiences existentially change us.”
I’ve found that to be true every passing year.
