Femininity [Part I]

What does it mean to be feminine? A lot of noise surrounding this word - hushes and shouts and screams. Some annoying, some comical.

In Hemingway’s style: it’s being fully alive in the person I am, owning my preferences, gifts, talents and skills. That’s feminine.

I can wear a beautiful dress, put on my @burberry makeup, or I can wear my leather jacket, white tee, and skinny jeans, or I can be biking across the city because I don’t own a car. I can wear my worn out jeans and work boots. I can have my pixie cut or long hair (have had my fair share of the former). I can be into action movies and not rom coms (truth). I can be into helping my dad drywall the garage or build a shed and not watch makeup tutorials on @youtube (also truth) like my peers.

Being feminine is not one-sided and if it is, that’s where danger lies. Fitting a human being into a mold that is not meant to be fit into.

Whatever scenario, whatever upbringing, being feminine is about developing a deep self-knowledge, and growing and living into that person you are. Fully alive. You.

...and the best part, it looks different on each woman.
