Depth of us

“We mourn because there’s a depth to each of us.”

While there can be problems with a personalist approach to ethics, the basic underlying premise that each living human person is unrepeatable and a whole universe unto themselves is sound. And there lies our intrinsic dignity. That we are gift and mystery at once. That, by virtue of this, to approach any other human person from anything other than reverence or even awe, would and should be considered a grave error. For there - the absence of reverence and awe, or mere indifference and apathy- is the root of injustice, pain and severe hurt that carry the potential to be passed down to generations.

Let us, then
Give beauty for ashes, and
turn graves into gardens.
