I was building a fire that day, just as I had done the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that.

I had gathered the tinder, kindling and fuel, but had forgotten the firestarter inside. So quickly ran into the log cabin and ran back out, only to see this. Thankfully i had my camera by the fire pit. The image does no justice to the reality of the moment. It lasted but a few brief seconds.

Before sunset.

Nothing else was important. Everything could go on around me, and I didn’t care. How could I?
If I don’t live for precious moments like this, what really, am I living for? For deadlines? For the next big project?

That.
That, was a magnificent sight.
That, was pure gift, breathtaking. A momentary manoeuvre of clouds, perfectly.
