That little key
“A very little key will open a very heavy door.” -Charles Dickens
Our very human hearts, over time, become bruised, worn and tired - quite different than what most of us had experienced as a child. We trod along through the muddy roads of our lives, with heavy hearts and spirits, not always looking up at fellow travellers - strange and familiar faces alike. And our hearts harden, become ‘lourd’. And we lock ourselves behind a door that can only be opened from the outside.
Every now and then, we encounter a person, or an event, or a view that acts as a small key that fits the lock of the heavy door we have found ourselves behind.
Do we dare to step out and let our hearts be light once again?
