A Good Person

I tire quickly of those who feel the need to tell me they’re a “good person.”

(It’s very unattractive, by the way)

What does it even mean to be a good person?

There’s a lot of talk about free speech. What comes out of our heart is (often times) an outward expression of our heart and mind. While having laws or social restrictions can certainly contribute to educating an ignorant mind and heart, claiming that someone is “good” because they follow the law or a rule, it completely illogical.

Sure, we can have rules against racism, or stereotypes, or other social transgressions, but we must check our minds and hearts first and foremost. Parroting the talk of the day will not change us. That requires our own effort.

Before we think before before we talk, let’s try to see where our heart and our minds are at.

Let’s examine our conscience.
